Hey, all! Today I’m celebrating #DRINKTHESUMMER (a low-key, high-vibe, boozy internet bash created by Sherrie and Renee ) with these sweet, smokey, spicy whiskey smashes!
They’re everything that’s great about summer (which I’m trying my best to pretend isn’t almost almost over), in drink form. Juicy fresh peaches and a smack of lemon? Check. Ginger bubbles? Check. Whiskey? Check CHECK.
Let’s ignore the fact that it’s almost September (gah!) and get into this end-of-summer drink the drinks situation. Everyone’s doing it! In fact, if ginger peach whiskey smashes aren’t your thing (but like, come on… they are), you can find a whole slew of other summertime libations (both alcoholic and non) created by a great group of bloggers below!
Join the fun. #drinkthesummer!
Ginger Peach Whiskey Smash
You could easily make these non-alcoholic (but still delicious) by substituting lemonade or iced tea for whiskey, or just skipping it completely. The recipe makes one cocktail, but it’s easily scalable for multiples.
Ingredients:
- 3 thin slices fresh peach
- 1 thin slice lemon
- 1/4 cup whiskey or bourbon
- lots of ice cubes
- ginger soda (ginger beer or ginger ale works, too)
Directions:
In the bottom of an Old Fashioned glass, smash/muddle together 2 peach slices and the lemon, until well mixed and broken up. Add the whiskey and stir to combine.
Pile ice cubes to the top of the glass, and finish with a few splashes of ginger soda, adding more ice cubes if necessary. Garnish with the remaining peach slice and serve.
Makes 1 cocktail.
Yum! I would not mind one of these right now. It’s morning, but there’s fruit, so….
fruit = breakfast!
So, this is great for cowboys and whiskey drinkers and such. But would this work with coconut rum for us, um, lightweights?
It definitely would! 🙂 #lightweights
Oh, thank you! I’ve been looking for something to change up my evening white wine on the patio and I just found a boatload of inspiration. Thank you, Molly, for making a bourbon cocktail… mmmm…. bourbon.
YAY! thanks Sarajane 🙂

Peach and ginger is always a combination I look for, and then you add whiskey?? Can’t even imagine how good that is. I think I have to make one of these tonight! xo
